This is Interlude Light
Light, in a different way
Red light therapy uses low levels of red and near-infrared light. It is often called photobiomodulation. At Interlude Light, the experience starts with a private room, a comfortable bed and time set aside for yourself.
Curious about the science? We are too. Research is exploring how light interacts with cells, and what that might mean in different settings.

A calm, simple visit, from the first step through the door to the moment you head back out. No performance to measure. No pace to keep.

A private space, away from the noise. Settle in, put your phone down and let the day carry on without you.
Your first visit
Light from above and below. Red and near-infrared light are used in photobiomodulation research.
The light explained
Lie back and breathe. You may notice gentle warmth, or very little sensation. You can speak up or stop at any point.
What to expect
A pause after a busy day. A quiet moment around your training. Or simply curiosity about the light. Your reason is your own.

A closer look at the science
Photobiomodulation is being studied across skin, exercise and other areas. Researchers are looking at how particular wavelengths and doses of light interact with cells.
Different devices, doses and study designs can lead to different findings. Results from a small, targeted light device do not automatically apply to a whole-body bed.
We offer an experience, without a promise of a health result. This information is general and is not medical advice.

Red light is visible. Near-infrared sits just beyond the visible spectrum. Both are different from UV light.
Light beyond the visible spectrum cannot be seen by the human eye. This drawing makes the idea visible.

Your first visit
You do not need to know everything about the light to ask a question. Here is how to approach your first session.
Book your timeRead the session information. If you take medication that increases light sensitivity, are pregnant, have an eye condition or are unsure whether light exposure is suitable, speak with your clinician first.
Ask about the device, session timing and eye protection. Follow the studio guidance and the device instructions. There is no need to rush.
Lie back while the panels glow. The experience should feel comfortable. Tell staff if anything feels uncomfortable and stop if you need to.
Take your time getting ready. There is no result to prove and no feeling you are supposed to have. It is your moment.

A few things to know

It uses low levels of red and near-infrared light. In scientific literature, this is often called photobiomodulation. Research is exploring how light interacts with cells. A session here is not a medical diagnosis or a substitute for care.
No. Red and near-infrared light are different from ultraviolet light used for tanning. The aim is light exposure, not the high heat of a sauna. A device can still produce warmth, and the instructions matter.
You lie back while the panels are on. You might feel gentle warmth or notice very little. Comfort comes first, and you can stop if you need to. We do not promise a particular feeling afterwards.
There is research into skin, exercise and other uses, but devices and study methods vary. Whole-body evidence is still limited. A 2025 systematic review found only five eligible whole-body studies and did not establish benefits for exercise performance or recovery.

We do not prescribe a frequency or promise that more sessions mean better results. Ask about the device instructions and decide whether the experience fits your routine.
